I received an email from Pat Grimm with the West Bass Club asking me to post info about the upcoming 32nd Annual Bohemian Bass Classic on Lake Whitney.
I had to look up the word “bohemian”. This is one of the definitions given… a person, as an artist or writer, who lives and acts free of regard for conventional rules and practices. Another was “unconventional life style.” So, I guess this is an unconventional bass tournament….
I could not figure out how to copy his PDF file such that I could post it in its entirety here so I will just give you the highlights and refer you to www.westbassclub.com for the complete details and rules.
The tournament is Sunday, May 20, 2012 and is sponsored by the West Bass Club and Academy Sports and Outdoors. Starting time is 6:00 a.m. Weigh-In is 2:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. The Headquarters is Harbor Master Marina. The entry fee is $30. There is $2,550 in guaranteed prize money, plus other merchandise prizes. There will be FREE smoked Country Sausage Sandwiches prepared by the West Bass Club members that will be served after 2:30 p.m.
I have seen reports of folks catching fish on Whitney. We haven’t been so lucky. Tournament or no tournament, I am hoping that the lake will continue to improve or that we will start to find fish.
