We missed out yesterday..   we looked at the weather both on TV and on the Internet Hour by Hour… it said the winds would be high…  12 going on up to 30 mph…   But, that didn’t happen.  Yesterday morning the winds were down and stayed down until around 10 a.m.  We missed at least 3 to 4 good hours of fishing. Instead, we just watched old Bill Wilcox and Honey Hole.

Man, I hate that when it happens, especially since we haven’t had a boat for the last 3 weeks.

  • Hour by Hour Weather.  I was wondering how many of you use my Lake Whitney Tackle Box on the right side of the page.  It has several links that we use all the time.  Most of the time, the Hour by Hour weather forecast is relatively accurate and it is one that we check on a daily basis to determine if we are going to fish or not.  The weather is the primary criteria for our decisions about going to the lake.
  • Lake Whitney Level.  This link takes you to the Texas Water Development Boards lake level tables that are current up to the day… plus they have all the history.   You can tell if the lake is stable, rising or falling and of course what the current level is.
  • Moon Phases.   This link takes you to one of the best sites for information about moon phase impact on fishing and supposedly the best times to fish. It is good information to know, but not necessarily the biggest criteria for deciding about going fishing or not.
  • Texas Fishing Forum and Lake Whitney Views are links that offer the potential for additional information on what’s going on at Lake Whitney.

There is nothing in the Tackle Box that you could’t find yourself on the Internet, but it just puts them all in one spot for your convenience    I hope they give you a little help in finding fishing information about fishing on Lake Whitney.

Well… that’s it!   We don’t have any real time information for you today… Sorry.   But, get out there and wet a hook.  Those good old biggerns are waiting.
