Just a note to let you know we made a couple of updates to our Tackle Box section… that’s where all the official stuff we need to know about fishing on Lake Whitney is located.

We updated the “Moon Phases” link to a Weather.com page… it has a graph for the best fishing times based upon the moon phase… The moon phase page we had been using quit on us some time ago and we have been poking around for a new one. I think this one is geared for this location and is easy to read. Try it out and let me know what you think.

We also updated the link to the “official” Texas Water Development Board page that lists all the current lake levels for Texas lakes and reservoirs. Whitney is at the bottom of the page. This is the page we have been using to get the “official” lake level for each of our reports… Not sure how accurate it is as we have seen differences based upon our “antidotal” observations on the lake… like “What happened to that stump that was here last week?” Sometimes The TWDB page will say the lake is up about an inch or so, and it will look like 3 to 4 inches to us based upon the land marks where we fish …. but who knows. Anyway, it is as good a measure as there is on the Internet… though I think the Corps of Engineers also has lake level info.

We didn’t fish today… thought about it early when we got up around 5 a.m. If we had killed them yesterday we would have gone again this morning. The wind was down early. But, by 10 it was at least 15 mph and that is too much for us old folks. The weather forecast says it is going to be WINDY for a day or three now… We will be getting back out on the lake the first chance we get.

Good luck and if you are out on the lake.. stay safe.
