The Lofers Bend Day Use Area ramp is an excellent ramp. The ramp features a wind protected harbor. The ramp is the standard 2 lane COE ramp with both the sliding dock and the fixed boat dock. The Day Use area has shore fishing areas and beach ares for swimming. A great facility. There is more than ample parking at the Day Use area ramp.
Here are some photos of the Day Use area:
These photos below were taken on two different dates, August 22, 2011 and February 4, 2012. The lake level on August 22, 2011 was 522 feet or 13 feet low. The February 4, 2012 photos were taken when the lake level was 527 feet 7 1/2 inches or 5 feet 4 1/2 inches low. As of March 14, 2012 the lake was just a little over normal pool of 533 feet. You can use your judgment to estimate the ramp usefulness at the current time.
Ramp at 13 feet low or Lake Level of 522 feet:
At the 522 foot level about 3 feet of water remains in the ramp harbor; a boater needs to observe the buoys as there are shallow areas on the route to the lake. There is also a rock pile near the mouth of the channel to the lake.
Ramp with the lake at 527 feet 7 1/2 inches or 5 feet 4 1/2 inches low.
We do not have a photo of the ramp at this level, but it is certainly functional at this level.
