It was Aquilla again… man it is hard to give up “catching” for “fishing”…

With the wind being down and in between cold fronts, we thought this would be a great day to be back on Aquilla catching fish.
The Boss boated her first bass about 8:30… shortly after losing another fish about the same size. This one was 3 pounds and 10 oz.
I thought it was going to be a tough day. I had fished a crank bait and a top water and had not had a bite. I tried fishing a T-Rig like hers, but again no luck.. She was working that T-Rig
Everybody was relaxed this morning… the birds were not working…. they were resting…
Finally, I boated a top water fish.
And then another.
We only fished until noon. We had a number of bites and strikes, but only boated 4 fish, 3 keepers. The wind came up and the fishing became more like work so we gave it up. But, all in all, we had a great day on the lake. It was comfortable, the fishing / catching was easy and relaxed.
The ramp at Dairy Hill remains in great shape.
There were quite a few folks combing the water for fish today…. My guess is that they were “catching” as well.
