Harbor Master Marina is a private marina.  The marina offers boat rentals and a boat ramp launch.  The launch fee is $3.00 per day.  The ramp is sheltered from the winds, though at times a north wind can be an issue.

The ramp at Harbor Master Marina is “rugged.”  It is an older one lane ramp that is a heavily patched concrete ramp.  The surface is not smooth, and it is a steep ramp.  It is also one of the deepest ramps on Whitney Lake.  At the 522 foot level, 13 feet below normal pool, the ramp is “usable” even if the lake fell another 3 to 4  feet.  There is no dedicated boat dock for the ramp.  Parking is adequate.  The parking area is an all gravel area in front of the  Marina Office. The marina ramp is one of the more sheltered ramps on the lake.  The best advice might be to stay in the center of the ramp.

These photos were taken on two different dates, August 22, 2011 and February 4, 2012. The lake level on August 22, 2011 was 522 feet or 13 feet low. The February 4, 2012 photos were taken when the lake level was 527 feet 7 1/2 inches or 5 feet 4 1/2 inches low. As of March 14, 2012 the lake was just a little over normal pool of 533 feet. You can use your judgment to estimate the ramp usefulness at the current time.

Ramp at 13 feet low or Lake Level of 522 feet:

Maybe a 4 wheel drive?  It should be noted that we have heard that the marina has a tractor to pull you back up if you can’t make it.

We have found the folks at Harbor Master Marina to be very “fisherman friendly.”   And we note that a number of guides like to fish out of this marina.  We highly recommend them.
